Due to its spectacular beauty, recreational opportunities, and proximity to various population centers, the Santa Cruz North Coast is experiencing an increasing number of visitors eager to enjoy the region; however, visitor amenities, infrastructure, and public services are limited. The lands accessible to the public on the North Coast are owned and managed by numerous public and nonprofit agencies, and coordination is needed by these agencies for development, operations, and funding of facilities on the North Coast.
The North Coast Facilities and Management Plan, led by the County of Santa Cruz, includes a set of high priority projects with support from these various agencies and organizations to enhance the North Coast visitor experience, manage visitor impacts, and preserve natural resources.

The North Coast Facilities and Management Plan Working Group is made up of representatives from various North Coast agency landholders and organizations. The Working Group meets quarterly to review and provide input on project materials and deliverables, as well as provide overall guidance on development of the North Coast Facilities and Management Plan. The agencies and organizations listed below make up the Working Group:
